Our Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) seedlings are grown from seed in a controlled greenhouse nursery, developing a dense, well-branched root system in individual propagation cells before being lifted for sale. Scots pine is one of the most cold-hardy and widely planted conifers in the world, valued for straight-grained timber, resin production and its ability to establish on poor, sandy or rocky soils where many other species struggle.
This species is a strong fit for reforestation projects, shelterbelts and windbreaks, Christmas tree production and long-term commercial timber plantations. It tolerates drought once established, needs full sun, and performs best in well-drained soil.
Each seedling leaves our nursery with an intact root plug to minimise transplant shock and speed up establishment in the field.
